Their ambitious dream materialized in 1962, when they successfully established a golf course and hotel. The golf course offered three distinct courses - blue, red, and par 3, and it was fittingly christened "Doral" by combining the names of its founders, Doris and Alfred.

The journey to becoming an incorporated city began with a seven-year struggle, culminating in January 2003, when Doral officially earned its city status, thanks to an overwhelming 85% voter support for incorporation.
